How To Make Rangoli (रंगोली) At Home Step By Step Demonstration (Example: My Own Rangoli (रंगोली) Creation)

Diwali… it is an auspicious festival. Everything related to Diwali is super exciting. There are so many things that we need to prepare beforehand, in order to make Diwali Festival Bright and Shiny. For starters, there is a shopping and then there is a preparation of RANGOLI (रंगोली)!

In this blog,

I will focus on Rangoli (रंगोली). This is a tradition that almost everyone follows in this festival. However, it is not just for Diwali, there are many other events when people make it (रंगोली) to express their bliss and delight.

I like Rangoli (रंगोली) so much that I take some time off from my schedule to make it personally at home on Diwali Festival. It has been years and I heard from many people that my creation is not bad. So, I would like to share it with you so that you too can make your Diwali colorful with Festive Rangoli (रंगोली).

Most importantly…

I will try to make the (रंगोली) creation process as easy as possible. I will describe the process of Rangoli (रंगोली) creation in simple steps so that you can easily understand and then follow them at your home.

Step By Step Demonstration:

First thing to remember is that there is a requirement of Ocher (गेरू) and Chalk (खड़िया) in this entire decoration. You need to draw the first line of your first Rangoli (रंगोली) decoration with Ocher (गेरू) and you need to use Ocher (गेरू) and Chalk (खड़िया) for the Deep Mala (दीप माला) section where you keep Lampion (मिट्टी के दीये) for worship.

Just like you build your house on a proper base, for auspicious and holy Rangoli (रंगोली), you need to use Ocher (गेरू) and Chalk (खड़िया) to make it proper in the view of worship. This cannot be considered absolutely necessary, but I wish that you follow it if you are going to put so much effort in your Rangoli (रंगोली).

This is the step that will take most of your time in this process. Choosing the color combination is your choice. You need to start filling colors upside down. First, fill the flowers so that they can be accurate.

After your flowers are completed, you need to fill the colors in the background. Background color will do the best creative part in your Rangoli (रंगोली). Therefore you need to be attentive to this step. Just make sure that you establish a balance between colors while filling them.

In order to stay away from any confusion in your Rangoli (रंगोली), you need to balance the background colors.

For example,

This is the basic color theme of this (रंगोली) Design:

When you start the coloring process, you divide the Rangoli (रंगोली) in two parts and then start coloring it so that both sides of Rangoli (रंगोली) can complement each other. This is the ideal process of Rangoli (रंगोली) Designing.

When you are done with all your coloring then you can spread अबरक, Silver Glitter over your final Rangoli (रंगोली) for glittering effect in it. It might not be very alluring in the picture but it does look very good when you look at it.

Make sure that you don’t use too much glitter. Just a hint of glitter would be enough, not too visible.
