Esports is not a new term. We all have heard it at some point. But, did it matter as a career in the past?
And do people see it as a career in the present?
Is there any scope in Indian for esports?
We should ask some major questions before we think how it can become a trendy career choice.
There is no doubt that young gamers are increasingly showing their interest in esports. But, do we consider their gaming excellence a hobby, or do we see the potential of becoming a gamer in them?
Well, it is not a surprise that young gamers are not yet appreciated. Or even recognized for their potential and skills in India.
Start Of Esports In India
When highly popular games like PUBG or Fortnite started esports participation of excellent players, it clearly became a glimpse of hope for rising gamers.
These are the platforms that are easily accessible and gamers can showcase their skills without leaving their preferred gaming zone.
If we look at the time frame of the Indian esports then we will find out the fact that Indian sports is practically still in its opening and development stage. Many new investors are showing interest in this new booming industry. But the figures are still not strong enough to support the new generation of gamers.
Major Hurdles For Indian Gamers
While popular games are allowing young gamers to show their talent in esports, the limitation of resources and training is still a major drawback for those young talents who want to be recognized for their gaming talent.
Being a professional gamer in India is not an easy option even for expert gamers.
Although there is not much scope of career for a gamer, being a gamer also means that you must be ready to face the opposite ecosystem & infrastructure that makes the esports even less reliable choice for new gamers.
Indian Gaming Career Choices
Indian gaming career cannot give you a long list of choices. But there are some pleasant choices that are currently on the top.
Game commentary, gaming influencer, AI coder, voice-over artists, animator, and designer, etc. are some of the available career choices in the Indian gaming industry.
And as the gaming industry grows with time, the list of career options in gaming will increase as well.
When a youngster shows gaming talent, it should be the first thought of parents to support the child with his/her interest.
The Indian gaming industry is still in its infant stage and it will not grow to its full potential unless parents support the gaming talent and interest of the child instead of calculating its market risk and worth on the first step.

Why Esports Is Better Career Choice?
Esports is the industry built on a gender-neutral space.
This is the fact that we all will agree. And this can be a big advantage for Indian youngsters. Esports, unlike cricket or other known sports, don’t require physical strength or physical stamina.
So, it is an open space for passionate youngsters as well as for those silent young talents who usually can’t find their way in the busy marketplace.
Most importantly, in today’s virtually influenced world where parents complain that their children don’t have enough human influence, this could be another individual space for them to create the same or similar interest-sharing circle and learn new things from international gamers.
